Greiter New Home Build | Batavia, Illinois

This new home construction was more unique than some of our other projects. The homeowners already owned a nice home, but were looking to move closer to family. After meeting with John Vendafreddo, Senior Project Manager here at Hogan Design & Construction, a plan was made to essentially build the same house they already had in a new location with some additional layout adjustments and updates.

There were numerous challenges with the city and engineering, but with some careful planning and execution, all these matters were addressed efficiently. The proposed grade was much higher than anticipated, so it needed to be lowered as well. Finally, the driveway interfered with the sidewalk, so our team needed to get creative with some unique angles and curves to make the exterior layout efficient and functional.

Outside of these challenges, the rest of the build went exceptionally well. A newer rendition of the homeowner’s previous house was completed with more efficient layout adjustments, updated finishes, and much more. The homeowner was very happy with the finished project and said that it immediately felt like home upon moving in.
